Abstracts are required for all paper presentations. The “Title of Paper” should be brief, but explicit.
Restrict the use of capital case to just countries, people’s names, etc. and not every word in the title.
For “Affiliation”, the name of the organisation, city, state (if applicable) and country are required for each presenting and/or contributing author.
The abstract should be arranged as follows: Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions
Excluding title, authors and institution, the abstract should be approximately 250 words. Any references (maximum of two) must be included in this allowance.
Abbreviations should be used only for common terms. For uncommon terms, the abbreviation should be given in brackets after the first full use of the word.
All free paper (oral) presentations will be of 15 minutes duration (10 minutes presentation, with 5 minutes discussion).
Conditions of Submission for POSTERS
Abstracts are required for all poster presentations.
The “Title of Poster” should be brief, but explicit.
For “Affiliation”, the name of the organisation, city, state (if applicable) and country are required for each presenting and/or contributing author.
The abstract should be arranged as follows: Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions

Poster boards will be provided with maximum width of 2.4m (2 x linked free-standing 1.2m panels), and they stand 2.3m tall from ground level. Posters need to fit within these size maximums, and they can be presented in either portrait or landscape format, though landscape is preferred for ease of reading.
Posters are attached with male velcro fixtures to the panels, and authors/presenters need to bring along their own such fixtures.
Posters need to be erected on the provided poster boards before the start of the Thursday evening 6:15pm plenary address and should remain there till the Sunday lunch.
Poster authors need to stand alongside their posters during the second half of Friday lunchtime (1:00-1:30pm) and delegates will then have the opportunity to engage in conversation & discussion with these authors
Conditions of Submission for GRAND ROUNDS
Abstracts are required for all Grand Rounds. They do not need to be as explicit in detail as for a Paper, nor long, but at least provide some form of introduction into what sort of medical case is under consideration.
The “Title” should be brief, but explicit. It can also be a little candid, especially if an element of mystery is to be generated!
For “Affiliation”, the name of the organisation, city, state (if applicable) and country are required for each presenting and/or contributing author.
Data projection (i.e. ability to use a PowerPoint presentation) will be available – please upload your files with the AV technician before the whole session begins.
Grand Rounds will be assigned 15 x minutes programmed time (maximum).
CLOSING DATE
The Closing Date for receipt of Abstracts is Tuesday 1 July 2025.
Late submissions will still be considered but will be marked at “Reserve” and generally accommodated into the programme if there is space or a vacancy is created.
